KAPA prepares Korean students to be successful at American universities. Most students must progress at least one English grade level each semester to have the English comprehension and writing skills to be successful with their academic goals.
With this in mind, a policy has been implemented for staff and students that will help the students to better master the English language by creating a true English Immersion environment.
All of our classes are taught in English except for the Korean and Chinese language classes.
Staff must only speak English in the KAPA building and are encouraged to speak only English to the students outside the school building, as well.
All postings made by the school or the students must be in English.
All meetings must be held in English unless special arrangements have been made.
Exceptions: The only exception to this policy is when a student does not understand a concept or idea being discussed. The teacher/staff member may use Korean to help the student understand but then must switch back to English.
